The traditional agricultural life, the beauty of our lebanese heritage still exist in Aakar. It is beyond Tripoli (the end of the Mount Lebanon Range) on the way to Syria. The inland landscape is mountanious with ravishing views.
The Qoubaiyat is the only town in Aakar of any size.
There is silk spinning mills, A Roman temple of Maqam and the Castle of Aakar.
Once you leave the highway you will find restaurants and simple cafes in the villages.
